The Gulf Coast Recreational Soccer Program is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The focus is participation, team building, sportsmanship, physical fitness, skill development, building confidence, self-esteem and having fun. Gulf Coast offers recreational soccer for players ages 6-18 in the fall (August-November) and spring (March-May) seasons.

We will form age-pure coed teams in the U7 and U8 age groups. We will form teams in separate divisions for boys and girls in the U10, U12 and U14 age groups. Depending on registration numbers, we may divide these divisions further into age-pure teams at the U9 and U10 age groups. As specified by US Youth Soccer's "Modified Laws of the Game for Youth Soccer", U7/U8 teams will play 4v4, U9/U10 teams will play 7v7, U11/U12 teams will play 9v9, and U13/U14 teams will play 11v11. All games will be played on age-appropriate fields, and goalkeepers will be introduced at the U9/U10 age group. Teams will be led by volunteer coaches, and we will provide a detailed curriculum with full-season training plans to all coaches. In addition, our Skills Club Program is a supplemental training program offered once per week for recreational players during the spring and fall seasons.

For U7/U8 teams (Recreational and Academy), we have one additional modifications to the official US Youth Soccer Modified Laws:

*   On all goal kicks, the defending team should retreat behind the halfway line until the ball has been kicked and has left the penalty area. If this does not happen, then the goal kick will be retaken. Teams are not permitted to "press high" on goal kicks, as we want players to be able to get the ball back in play quickly and successfully.

Gulf Coast Soccer offers a full range of soccer programs for players of all ages and ability levels. We have a program that fits your child.
